Please note: Starting this month the location of the Legislative Committee Meetings will be at the Embassy Suites Chicago-Naperville for the remainder of 2016.
Join the Legislative Committee as we discuss the Department of Labor Overtime Regulation.
Last summer, President Obama announced a proposal that would raise the salary threshold to $47,476. If the changes goes through, white-collar workers making less than $47,476 will be guaranteed overtime pay if they put in more than 40 hours a week. In higher education, the change would reclassify thousands of workers across the country. Colleges would be required to pay these professionals for any time worked over 40 hours a week -- or else raise their salaries significantly to get over $47,476.
We will begin our program with a presentation from attorneys Ray Sanguinetti and Mark McAndrew, well-versed in the DOL overtime regulation. Following their presentation, there will be a panel discussion including:
-Ben Brockschmidt, Executive Director/Vice President of Policy, Illinois Chamber of Commerce
-Kris Hartner, Owner, Naperville Running Company
-Richard Brink, General Manager, Hilton Lisle/Naperville
This month's meeting will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm to learn more about legislative topics. Registration for this meeting is $15.
