The May General Member Luncheon May 23 focuses on the long-term success of North Central College.
This spring, North Central College kicks off a yearlong celebration of its sesquicentennial anniversary.
North Central College President Hal Wilde will speak to Chamber Members about the special relationship the college has had with Naperville since it moved to the city.
The college moved to Naperville in 1870, soon after its founding in 1861, thanks to citizens who understood that to be a great city, they needed a great college. Likewise, North Central College leaders understood that in order to be great a great school, they needed to operate in a great city. The "town and gown" partnership between Naperville and North Central College remains today.
In honor of the college's 150th anniversary, North Central is making plans for a Riverwalk Gateway and a Sesquicentennial Walkway through the heart of campus.
North Central College has had 150 years of success and looks forward to 150 more.
The Chamber's monthly General Membership Luncheon is an opportunity to network with hundreds of fellow Chamber Members and for hearing discussion on topics of interest to the business community. Previous presenters include United States National Security Advisor James L. Jones, motivational expert Steve Beck, former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar, US Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Thomas
Donohue, noted futurist Rebecca Ryan, and Naperville Mayor, A. George Pradel who presented the annual State of the City address.
