This is Y! Stronger Together

Please join President and CEO Richard Malone for an engaging account of the largest not-for-profit merger in Metro Y history allowing for a million dollar Y investment in the local region. Mr. Malone will announce building and programing improvements as well as new regional leadership joining the Metro Board of Managers.

The YMCA has been an integral part of Naperville’s community for the past 100 years, and on March 26, the Naperville YMCA will celebrate its centennial. On December 31, 2010 the Heritage YMCA Group merged with the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, to ensure that the Ys that service 24,000 individuals and families locally, would be stronger and more competitively placed to meet the demands of a changing marketplace.

Joining the Chamber on Monday, February 28 to discuss the merger, but also provide a thought provoking discussion on not-for-profit integration will be two recognized industry leaders, Richard M. Malone, President & CEO and Tom Beerntsen, Executive Vice President Association Development of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago.

At the luncheon, appropriately titled, “This is Y! Stronger Together," Dick will provide the community with an update on the integration, what they can expect from the Y in the next 100 years, while challenging the community to continue to think big, and remain focused on delivering key services to customers, clients and the community.

The Chamber's monthly General Membership Luncheon is an opportunity to network with hundreds of fellow Chamber Members and for hearing discussion on topics of interest to the business community. Previous presenters include United States National Security Advisor James L. Jones, motivational expert Steve Beck, former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar, US Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Thomas Donohue, noted futurist Rebecca Ryan, and Naperville Mayor, A. George Pradel who presented the annual State of the City address.
